Terms & Conditions
Lesson Bookings
You must book and confirm all lessons with your driving instructor.
Lessons are booked on a first come, first served basis.
Lessons will only be classed as booked once they have been confirmed by your driving instructor.
Lessons can only be booked if the you hold and present an original, valid suitable licence to drive the tuition vehicle.
Tuition is only available to persons who meet all of the following criteria:
- Aged 17 or over
- Legally entitled to drive in the UK
- You must inform your instructor immediately if you receive any endorsements on your licence during the period you are receiving tuition.
Fees & Offers
Lesson fees will be quoted at the time of booking.
Fees may be paid by cash, paypal, or bank transfer (prior to the lesson). If you decide to pay by making a block booking payment, then block booking payments are due at the beginning of your first lesson.
If you decide to cancel your lessons mid-way through your block booking or intensive course period, refunds will not be considered. However, any hours used will then be charged at the hourly ‘pay-as-you-go’ rate and the remainder may be utilized within 12 months.
Strive 2 Drive Academy also reserves the right to introduce (and withdraw) offers from time to time in respect of driving tuition.
Such offers will not affect the price of block bookings unless it is expressly stated within the offer.
Cancellations
You must give your instructor at least two working days’ notice (including Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays) (the “Minimum Notice”) if you wish to cancel or rearrange a driving lesson, otherwise you will be liable to pay for 100% of the lesson fee.
Where you have pre-paid for any lesson but fail to attend or provide the Minimum Notice to cancel or rearrange the lesson, it will be counted as a lesson taken for the purposes of the lesson cancellation policy and you will be liable for the lesson fee.
Pick up & finish location for lessons
You should agree with your instructor where your lessons will start and finish when making any lesson bookings. Changes to your pick up and finish location will only be considered if reasonable notice is given. If you request a different pick up or finishing place from that already agreed, your lesson may be shortened to cover any additional travelling time to avoid disrupting other lessons or tests.
Test Day
Strive 2 Drive Academy do not book the practical driving test on your behalf. This is your responsibility.
Your driving instructor can give you advice on how to book your test. On the day of your driving test, you will be required to pay for a minimum of three hours at the ‘pay-as-you-go’ rate.
This will cover, if requested, the attendance of the instructor on the test in the back of the car, the use of your instructor’s car and its insurance, pick-up and drop-off as agreed and a debrief at the end of the test.
Use of your instructors driving school car
Strive 2 Drive Academy reserves the absolute right to refuse, at any time, the use of our cars for any test/lessons:
- If your driving is considered below the standard required for the test or it is considered you are not likely to reach the required standard in the time available.
- If your driving standard has been adversely affected by the cancellation of lessons for whatever reason.
- If you appear unwell or to be affected by the influence of alcohol or drugs including medically prescribed drugs.
- If any fees remain unpaid.
Lesson and test bookings are accepted only on the express understanding that Strive 2 Drive Academy will not be liable for any costs, expenses, claims or losses caused or incurred following their refusal or inability to provide a car/ instructor for any reason for test, for the lack of availability of any vehicle/ instructor for a lesson or test or from a cancellation of any lesson or test howsoever caused or for whatever reason.
In the event of mechanical breakdown or other difficulties outside the control of the instructor, the instructor reserves the right to rearrange lessons at short notice.
In the event that your instructor accompanies you to your driving test and your test does not go ahead due to your negligence, for example you have booked the wrong day or test centre, then you will still have to reimburse pay your instructor as per a normal lesson rate in order to cover their costs and time.
Insurance
Your instructor will carry the appropriate motor insurance and be able to provide such documentation should you be involved in a collision, whilst under the supervision of your instructor.
